Introspection. by Rekha jad

While the world is grappling with the corona outbreak ,everyone locked down and confined within the four walls of their rooms,I take a sneak peek through the window of my room and  Lo! I find a group of mynah, crow, parakeet, a pigeon with sporadic  appearance of a squirrel on my window sill.A melodious chirping it was and I couldn't restrain myself from eavesdropping them.
From their monotonous trilling,I could conjure their flow of thoughts. They seemed to be plagued by the deserted look all around, the roads once teeming with unending pedestrian traffic ,high octave hawkers and honking vehicles looking abandoned and desolate. They scornfully seem to be intrigued by the sudden disappearance of humans  who once strutted vainly and proudly  in the markets. In fact all the animals must be wondering about the unprecedented shunning of festivities, playfulness celebrations and merrymaking by us. Even Gods kept in seclusion,no wails of muezzins,no tinkling of temple bells.Instead everyone cramped and restricted in their homes,  with long, sullen, sombre faces ,intimidated by an invisible enemy. This ghost land look of the planet must be giving them and other animals the feel of  unrivalled sovereigns for the time being.Though they must be getting boundless joy by fresh ,fragrance wafting from air without any stifle and smother

As I stealthily listen to their chirping,I feel as if they are sneering and smirking at our smugness with life, mocking the way our imperious selves have cowed down.As if we had been granted nectar of immortality,at our carelessness and recklessness. I don't take umbrage at their behaviour, rather take refuge in silence and introspect within.
Covid 19 is just a triggering factor,we are ourselves to be censured for this turbulence. We took everything for granted, the resources we ravenously pounced upon, straitjacketing our lives in full time jobs, without caring about our passions.our lives had become mechanical with lack of gratitude, empathy, complaisance,  and humility .we were turning emotionally blunt. This solitude is the best time to regain  and reclaim them. The soporific and ruined life will revive and bubble with life again, after we have taken a lesson.
We need to make subtle changes in our life styles, small rejigs and adjustments will realign our lives on a desired path. The slackened pace is soon going to pace up.Humans possess  wisdom to transcend all predicaments, survive all upheavals life throws at us with grit and courage.we have ability to turn life's negative aspects into something positive. This appalling and gruesome  hour will pass soon but will remain captivated in our memories for a long time.

The lighting of candles in unison imparts a lesson ,to be like a candle in our lives, light before it melts.A journey from selfishness to selflessness. A sojourn from hedonism to spirituality.

  1. This virus has really given world a practical solution to save our planet which no world leader or expert could think of. Now we all must come together and with coordination of UN world must have well planned locked down for at least 10 days once every 6 months

    1. Henceforth, humanity should be the only religion and saving the planet our main mission.
