Speaking eyes. by Rekha jad

In twinkling of an eye, the world turned upside down in the last few months, an invisible, minute enemy left us watching streams of coffins and stopping the flow of life ,leaving us helplessly  groping for a solution.

Wearing our fear on sleeves, masks on the face, alcohol on hands, and a facade of courage, hope, and faith within we have embarked on new norms in the journey of life with a somewhat eerie premonition.

No, we have not stopped adorning and preening ourselves, but we are accustoming to new beauty goals. Though masks have made it easy to cloak our inner turmoil but it is possible to remain immaculately charming behind the masks. with more than half of our face covered by it, the onus lies on the eyes. Eyes have to be eloquent and articulate enough to express our multitude of emotions and sentiments like joy, sorrow, shock, and suffering.
With brows on fleek, kohl enhanced eyes and raven curled lashes eyes can speak volumes and leave a memorable impression of beauty.

So what, if our sarcastic saucy tongues are fettered behind the masks, eyes can sparkle bright with sarcasm and snarkiness. What if we can not prove our innocence, eyes are adept at smiling guilelessly. We need not show our ear to ear smiles to welcome someone dear to us, eyes adroitly offer a thousand welcomes. Now we know that shaking hands, kissing and hugging are not hygienic ways of greeting.

Want to give vent to your anger and ire, one wrathful glare is sufficient. Exchanging of somber, gloomy looks is enough to express your concern and sorrow. Moistened and welled up eyes don't need validation for showing up your pain. Tired of your daily grind ,bleary, and languid eyes express the languishing selves without failure. We may overlook the gaunt and withered bodies of the famished and starved but can not remain oblivious to limpid lustreless eyes of the beggar on the street.
Females donning a sans makeup look , forsaking lipsticks and applying dollops of moisturizers on parched hands.Males have grown their hair out,  A stylish stubble or a full-grown beard enhancing their looks, a dash of hair color finds a miss, and salt and pepper look is in vogue. Salons and parlor seem to be things of a distant future. But the upshot is that eyes are making an entrance and can communicate everything ,definitely are windows to the soul.
